5 Things I Learned from 5 Days of Empowered Empowering Yourself, One Step at a Time

Kerry Riley

Life has a funny way of teaching us important lessons when we least expect it. Recently, I had the privilege of hosting a 5-day empowered journey, and I must say, I learned so much from simply listening to the amazing people in the room. The experience was nothing short of refreshing and motivating. There were so many "wow" moments, and I walked away with insights that I’m eager to share. I truly believe these lessons might inspire you too!

Here are the 5 key lessons I took from those five days of empowerment. My hope is that these words will resonate with you, encourage you to take action, and help you create more balance in your life.

1. Taking Action Starts Small

We often think that big changes require big steps, but the truth is, even the smallest actions can have a huge impact. Whether it’s waking up 10 minutes earlier, making that first phone call, or even just writing down one goal for the day – these seemingly small actions build momentum that can change everything. So, if you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, start small. Your first step might be the one that sparks a larger shift in your life or business.

2. Motivation is Contagious

One of the most powerful things I experienced during this 5-day journey was how motivating it was to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. There’s something about being in a space where people are lifting each other up that creates an undeniable energy. Motivation isn’t something you have to create on your own – it spreads through connection. So, don’t be afraid to seek out those who will lift you up, cheer you on, and remind you of your greatness. When we support each other, we rise together.

3. Being Open to Change

Sometimes the most refreshing thing you can do is embrace change. We all know how easy it is to fall into old habits or comfort zones. But true empowerment comes when we open ourselves up to new possibilities. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but that discomfort is a sign of growth. Be open to shifting your mindset, trying new things, and allowing new ideas to flow in. Change doesn’t have to be scary; it can be exactly what you need to move forward.

4. Hope is a Powerful Tool

Hope is an incredible thing. It’s easy to get bogged down by challenges, setbacks, and the weight of our responsibilities. But staying hopeful allows us to look beyond the obstacles and see the opportunities. When we maintain a hopeful outlook, we create space for the unexpected to happen. Remember: Hope isn’t passive. It’s an active choice we make every day, and it has the power to fuel our resilience.

5. Happiness is a Choice

Empowerment starts with happiness. Too often, we wait for circumstances to be just right before we allow ourselves to feel happy. The truth is, happiness is a choice we can make at any moment. When we shift our mindset and choose to see the good, we begin to transform our experience of life. You don’t have to wait for a perfect day or a perfect situation. Choose happiness today, and watch how it transforms your energy and outlook on everything.

Reflecting on These Lessons

At the end of these 5 days, I felt motivated, refreshed, and excited for the future. But more than anything, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the journey I’ve been on and the lessons I’ve learned. Empowerment isn’t a destination – it’s a continuous process, a journey of self-discovery and action.

So, now I turn the question to you: What small action can you take today to create the life or business you truly want?

Whether it’s taking a deep breath, writing down your goals, or reaching out for support, remember that every step counts. And no matter how small it feels, it’s all part of the bigger picture.

Let’s empower each other, stay hopeful, and continue moving forward – one small action at a time.

With hustle and heart,
